Patti Glatzel Clough MS, ATR-BC, LPC, Psychotherapist, Board Certified Art therapist, Child - Adolescent - Adult

Welcome to Alliance Counseling Center! I am proud to say that I am a new addition to the ACC staff as a licensed professional counselor and a board certified art therapist focusing on children and adolescents. I have been practicing as a psychotherapist using experiential arts to include art therapy, play therapy, movement and music therapy for over 11 years, welcoming each client to “play”. Helping each individual to feel comfortable and safe to open themselves up in order to explore emotions and conflicts. It is important to me that they “have fun” and enjoy coming to share of themselves within a welcoming atmosphere.

While participating in therapy does not require a client to engage in the experiential arts, I do encourage self-expression to release blocked emotion within sensitive surroundings. Some of the important areas of work include building self-esteem, and helping to overcome deficits such as anger; impulse control, communication, anxiety, separation of the family unit, depression, eating disorders, and grief. I believe that inner healing comes with exploration of the person. Being able to recognize each individual’s strengths and building on them helps to encourage a sense of self value and appreciation, along with developing personal empowerment.

WHAT DO KIDS SAY ABOUT ART THERAPY WITH PATTI?

“I feel like I can connect with her easily.” Evan age 17.

Now a little about my background:

Graduating from Mt. Mary College, Milwaukee WI with a Master’s degree in Art Psychotherapy I have held a license as a professional counselor (LPC) and accomplished Board certification and registration as an Art therapist since 2004. My internship at Rogers Memorial Hospital, Oconomowoc WI, working on the child and adolescent units, residential eating disorder, and acute in-patient adults provided me with a wealth of knowledge in behavioral health. Educational efforts include adjunct professorship at Edgewood College in Madison, WI and Mount Mary College Milwaukee, WI, along with supervision for art therapists in undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate studies. Feel free to contact me if you are in need of art therapy or Licensed Professional Counseling supervision of any form. My therapeutic direction is evidenced based and solution-focused. Advocacy for my clients in any situation is extremely important to me working with all different ages in the mental health profession. Art Therapy is a wonderful special process that works great with kids! It helps break the ice! COMFORT IS KEY!

“Never underestimate your power to change yourself; never overestimate your power to change others.”–Wayne Dyer
